Be Creative

I truly believe that everyone’s creative and I think that as many people may not believe they’re creative, they make creative decisions every day. I used to struggle with thinking anything I did was unoriginal or cliche. I would believe that most of what I did was very average and plain. From this mental block I put on myself I would think that I’m not a creative person or that the content I made wasn’t worth sharing. I think that this has been one of my biggest obstacles to overcome. I still struggle at times with creative slumps, writers block, or uninspired photo shoots. It’s not a matter of someone being a creative person or not. I think it has more to do with applying one’s self to accomplishing a task. For me that’s sitting down and writing every day, or coming up with new designs to wood burn, or just taking my camera on a drive. I commit myself to starting something and I try to find creative solutions to the tasks I put on myself. I don’t wake up inspired every day, although every now and then I get a kick, but mainly it’s making myself start creating and putting my mind in that creative flow.
