APPS (Sadly not the same as the Apps at Chillis or on a phone)

I Hope Everyone’s Doing Well

It’s been a turbulent time for a lot of people. I don’t think that I’ve been open on this too much about mental health, but I will say that I think it’s very important and can be a big difficulty for people. I’m included in that. With that said, I just wanted to check in with all five of you that are reading this, yes that’s also right I think there’s five of you lovely people now. Thank you for the support and understand this is a two way street. If anyone seeing this is in need of help or wants to just vent about things you CAN email me. I’m a random artist maybe not even in your area, but don’t hold that in. I encourage you to find someone who is a good listener who will not force you to take action on anything, but listen.

Find someone to talk to and there’s organizations that actually can do a lot of good for you if you need someone to talk to. I am very fortunate to have great people in my life to talk about issues with, but I understand some people are not as easy to open up. If opening up to a stranger like me would help then I’m here for my community. You guys have given me so much support that I want to pay it back. Also get off social media every now and then. I’m going to start taking lots more time off it and transition to try and only use it for business because I’m recognizing how toxic it is in my life. I have a habit of overthinking and being on social media is a huge inhibitor. So whatever it is, instagram, twitter, tinder, facebook, vsco, ask.fm, myspace, snapchat I encourage you to be on it a little bit less this week than last.

These are some lines you can call if you are in need of help as well because there are people who can do more for you than me. Anyways I wanted to start this off reaching out and making sure you all are staying on the up, because it can be so easy to fall back down. You are enough and worth it and I care about you.

Apps

On a lighter note I wanted to talk about applications. I have applied to so many jobs and not heard anything back that I forgot that companies could reply. Sadly it was a rejection email, but thank you Disney for at least letting me know unlike some other companies. No I don’t agree with all of corporations like yours methods, but yes this was a very nice to know.

So i’m still waiting for a couple. Four of which are dream jobs. One is with my dream company A24 in New York, some are in LA, some San Francisco and one London. I applied to all the places I want to go next, the only bad part is that there’s too many places. I think advice I could give after college is to apply to the places you want to go. I’ve applied to some of my dream cities and today I’ll be filling out more applications for jobs in more places I’d love to live.

I think from applying and not getting about 35 very competitive film internships and jobs I can say I need to work a lot more on myself and my reel to make myself more hirable. Sadly they do not fall for the witty cover letter, or the overly professional Dictation in a cover letter. GET MORE EXPERIENCE… that’s just me yelling at myself, but yeah you all do that too. If you have a dream job, make daily accomplishments that will make you more enticing to make someone hire you down the road. I am looking at part time jobs just because I have free time and want to save up before moving, but don’t get stuck in these part time jobs because you probably have much bigger dreams that you should achieve, you just need to make the steps to get there.

So in summary, do more for your career. There’s so many distractions out there and unmotivated friends that will make you come out with them. It’s good to have fun, but If you’ve got a passion about something push for it sooner. Or at least to enough today that will make you look back tomorrow and feel off to a good start. Have fun, but have fun once you’re at a level that you’re content with, because you wont get yesterday back. Yes going out is fun, my mind set looking forward will be to keep making yesterday worthwhile and helping get me to my ultimate lofty goals.

Goals

Make some dang goals. It’s so cheesy and it took me so long to actually sit down and write them out, for workouts, for diets, for work, for my self-help. Write a goal and write when you’re going to get it done. I find it much more motivating to think I gave myself a deadline to better myself. If I do what I told myself would make me closer to my goal, then I might actually just be a little bit closer to my career goal or fitness goal once it’s done.

In life, I’d always like to be progressing. After taking some steps back in the last couple weeks, I see more now that I feel much better with myself chasing my goals than sitting back. Some of you are similar minded so I encourage you to apply for that job, right now, or at least go redo your resume, or start the cover letter.
