Film Goals
Do your thing
Procrastinating
I have still not written goals down physically for the year of 2020. I have spoken of them or mentioned them to people here and there, but not actually written them down. I think that this is a great way to keep track of them, and yet I have not done it yet. Before continuing the rest of this blog I want to encourage anyone reading this to quick go write down at least three goals.
Typing
Typing out goals to me is not the same thing, but some of mine include, financial independence through film work, make 3 good short films, moving states, and traveling abroad.
I think my friend Mckenna had a great plan of action when she encouraged me to pick one of my bigger goals and just knock it out. So, I’m not sure which goal yet, I thought I did, but now I’m not sure which will be first.
I think I can focus on one while still doing others, but It’s doubtful I can evenly spread the effort I’d like to give to each project and still be sane. So I’m going to say for now that I’m going to focus right now on financial independence through film work. I could get another job to be secure, but I love the challenge and excitement of pursuing only the jobs I’m interested in. So if you need any film crew workers let me know.
On another note, there’s a big event coming up that I’m excited for. The first project I 1st AC’d for premieres March 2nd and MY talented friend McKenna Esteb releases her new song March 1st as well. Exciting things that are coming. My hope’s that this will help show my credibility to work on bigger scale projects and more exciting film stories.
Dilemma
There’s definitely something holding me back with small goals. I know what I have to do for the short term projects, but I tend to not finish them first off. I have so many projects I try to keep going on, but this lets me keep working on beginnings and not endings.
The other thing to learn from this blog post is not only to write down goals, but to finish one that you’ve begun before starting eight more. So I have projects, like three wood burnings, the longboard video edit, three scripts, pre-production on a short film, and an itemized budget of a van build I need to attend to before I take on more.
But guess what you amazing people. I took on more. So that’s my dilemma. I think that I need to go down the list piece by piece to get done what I need to get done. Anyone out there who is doing the same please finish your projects and show off your great work!! One of my big goals is to also work for A24 Studios and this means having my own projects under control to take on a job with a studio like this.
I think you all make great things and I know that I want to see them so keep finishing projects and sharing them!
I’m happy to be in Boise right now, California soon, and then Sun Valley, then wherever. Keep traveling people and creating!! If you need motivation there it is peeps.
