Pardon the delay
So Much happened. Sorry to make you wait
Why my blog on Wednesday was delayed
This month has been crazy active in a good way, but sadly that’s not the reason the post was delayed. My laptop broke, I couldn’t figure out how to edit the site on my phone, and I couldn’t get into my hard drive to pull up a cover photo. This all discouraged me a little bit to not post the blog. So now I have my laptop fixed thanks to the great people at Apple in Boise’s Town Square mall. It was very quick.
NOW!
I have an amazing opportunity to work with Loaded Longboards, kind of more for them. Hopefully if I do it right though it will turn into more collaborations by chance. Loaded longboards were always a company that I wanted longboards from growing up. They just were a little pricy for what I had at the time and still have available in my budget. So…. I had this simple idea to reach out to customer service and let them know an idea I had.
I reached out to them and linked my website and instagram so they could see my wood burnings. I told them that I wanted to see if I could wood burn one of their decks. I asked them how much it would be to buy a longboard without any of the enamel or finish on the bottom if they’d even do that. Dusty at their customer support had a better idea.
Dusty told me that he’d love to see what i’d come up with and were willing to help me get creative. All he said would be done on my side is to pay for shipping for the transaction! He was so gracious and sent over two longboard decks. One is a used the same style I’ve always wanted to buy, and the other is a prototype board of a new one. I’m not complaining at all that they’re used since I’m getting them for a great collaboration deal.
So they mentioned they couldn’t sand them for me, but it shouldn’t take much to get them burn ready. Part of them sending them so quickly and with me only paying shipping is now I get to repurpose them from start to finish. They want photos when I’m done and overall mentioned if I wanted to make a video of how to repurpose a longboard that’d be cool. So I’m taking this opportunity to get some content for myself and try to make a solid video about repurposing and wood burning a longboard deck. Thank you thank you to loaded longboards for the sweet hookup and I’m stoked to get working on them.
What I’d like to do with this
So, I reached out as a long shot that they’d get back to me with a response this great. I thought maybe they’d give me a quote on how much it’d cost them to custom make and ship the single deck, but no. Dusty did way more over there and got me two decks to repurpose and said he liked the work I’ve done and It’s really motivating to now go try and make a very high quality video and project with this collaboration.
To anyone reading that is a creative and makes art, I think this might be a little victory story that might make you more interested in reaching out to your favorite companies and see what they’ll do for you. They might just hook it up and make your day.
Take that risk and send an email to them, be polite, show your driven and that you want to work either with them or with their product because it’s something you enjoy. I for one reached out not thinking any of this would happen and now I’m getting to wood burn and send in what I make to the people helping me over there. Very cool and I’m glad to be creating with them.

So so so so so many more things to tell you all (all 7 of you)
I don’t want to go crazy in this blog alone with all the great stuff that went down in Boise, so I wont.
Quick recap:
I was in Boise, now I’m in Nevada, next I’m in Boise, then LA, then Sun Valley.
I’m finishing a feature script and a short script, as well as starting a new short film script.
I am taking calls for freelance work elsewhere, exciting and travel oriented I hope.
I’m not going to talk about certain film proceedings because I don’t know if they’ll come through or not.
I went to the first ever screening of the first ever film I worked on. It was a blast! Congrats to Lily Yasuda & Michael Wolfe on their film “Like Love.” Super cool and motivating to go to.
got my film back!
Might stop certain types of jobs soon…..
